Jaboticaba season! Latest news and stories Ohana Winery Nov 25 2018 We love our jaboticaba trees - and with 400 of them all fruiting at the moment, we have SO MUCH fruit! This is a pretty great problem to have. Our freezers are completely filled to the brim, I have made a few batches of jams (although, I could always be making more!), we have 110 litres of premium jaboticaba port aging in a beautiful American oak barrel...and we have a few hundred bottles of our brand new Jaboticaba Liqueur! The liqueur is a little sweet and a little tart, much like the fruit itself. My favourite way to enjoy this liqueur is by filling a glass with lots of ice, then around 3/4 Jaboticaba liqueur and topped up with soda or sparkling mineral water. It's just so refreshing on these hot Queensland afternoons! (I can confirm, its also very delicious drizzled over creamy cheesecakes and vanilla icecream!)
